Rizer de Loudoun named one of the 50 best business developers in North America
Loudoun County Economic Development Department executive director Buddy Rizer has been named one of North America’s top 50 business developers, according to consultancy firm Consultant Connect.
Rizer gave the award to the county’s economic development program, which he has run for 10 years, more than he personally.
âWe are a very proactive economic development organization and we are a very responsive economic development organization,â said Rizer. âWhen these brokers and site consultants need their information, they need it and we are very responsive. “
According to its press release, Consultant Connect is an agency designed to bridge the gap between business developers and site consultants. The economic development professionals selected for the list were nominated by their colleagues in the economic development industry and the site consultant community for their excellent practices, innovation and success in building the communities they serve.
Rizer said that midway through fiscal 2017, the county has already registered $ 1.3 billion in new business investment and can expect another billion by the fiscal year end in July. .
âWe are excited,â Rizer said. âSince I’ve been here our pipeline has never been bigger or more diverse⦠We see a lot of things happening with offices that we haven’t really seen before. The future of Metro here has really got us into a lot of discussions that we weren’t previously aware of.
Loudoun’s economic development department was also recognized in September at the annual meeting of the International Economic Development Council, where it received two awards for excellence in economic development for the Farmer Trading Card program and for the DED annual report. . It was also named the âMost Performing Economic Development Organizationâ among its population segment.
Rizer joins just four other people in Virginia named on Consultant Connect’s list, and no others in the Washington, DC metro area.
âIt’s a great little club, and you know, I think it shows that Virginia is really a great place to do business,â said Rizer.
